Entrepreneurs, changemakers, and citizens around the world now have an exciting resource at their fingertips. UNICEF’s new online course, titled “Social Norms, Social Change,” will provide the knowledge and tools to drive transformative change – for free.
The eight-week, two-part course will teach both theoretical and practical aspects of social change, explaining how social norms and constructs sustain harmful behaviors (e.g., child marriage and gender violence). Taught by University of Pennsylvania professor Cristina Bicchieri, the course has received 4.5 and 5-star ratings from participants in past sessions. Students will learn how to design effective policy interventions that change the norms underlying human rights issues.
In only 2-3 hours per week, full-time students and busy professionals alike can take part in this exciting course. Participants can enroll through online education platform Coursera, where they can choose to audit the course or pay to receive a verified certificate. If you have an internet connection and a little spare time, UNICEF’s course could provide the boost you need to jumpstart your change-making work.
