Food
Food is one of the few universal requirements for human life. Food systems around the world vary greatly and are largely based on a continuous dialogue between cultural tradition and population pressures. Political pressures and globalisation trends are homogenizing food systems around the world, often decreasing cultural value, nutrition, and climate resilience. Food systems can be a great path to positive social change around the world, or conversely, they can be manipulated and exploited to worsen social issues. Food systems have the power to change the world, one grain of rice at a time.
